The 2 cabin camp is located where a small river opens out into a scenic lagoon before entering the ocean. Only a dozen fly anglers fish this exclusive location each September into early October when the fly fishing for fresh run Coho Salmon and Steelheads is prime time. This water with holding pools just 150 yards from the sea is fly only. Various Clouser and egg sucking leach patterns are most effective and coho will aggressively take surface poppers too. Expect Coho salmon to be bright silver and ranging from 10 to 20 pounds. Steelhead tend to average 4 to 8 pounds with the potential for double figure fish.

Each tide brings in a fresh run of fighting fit fish.

2 rods over 10 days fishing caught and released 421 salmon to 20 pounds  (we had 2 days at Sams Camp and 8 days at Dicks Camp) overall, ALL fish counted were correctly hooked in the mouth. These are feeding and aggressive fish.

The 2 Cabins are basic. There are no showers. Toilets are “bush style” long drop but adequate. This is true wilderness living with stunning scenery and the most exclusive fishing possible. A reasonable level of fitness is required for this camp as there is a steep grass path and 49 wooden steps down to the river.

Kodiak grizzlies will be your neighbours but their only interest is the sedge grasses and migrating salmon – enough to share! You will also see Sea Otters, Bald Eagles and the occasional red fox.

Dick has been guiding on Kodiak for decades and has a vast experience on both fly fishing and wildlife. He is your exclusive guide and cook. Helicopter access from Kodiak
