Norway Game Fishing
An abundance of clean clear rivers and lakes in the north of Norway provides the perfect habitat for a variety of game fish. Excellent value fly-fishing for arctic char, brown trout, sea trout and Atlantic salmon is on offer at a number of coastal centres.
The rich fjords at Lauklines where crystal clear rivers, streams and waterfalls meet the sea create an abundance of algae and shrimps. Sea trout, char and salmon feed in these areas prior to migrating upriver to spawn. As temperatures warm, usually from mid June onwards, the fishing can be exceptionally good.
Those prepared to walk and hike into inland lakes will enjoy excellent sport for brown trout.
It is certainly possible to combine fly-fishing for game fish with the excitement of catching big coalfish and even cod and halibut on the fly.
We have a number of centres that cater in this respect, but Lauklines with its dedicated guide and fly fisher Marcus, is the perfect location.. situated just 40 minutes from the city of Tromso.
For freshwater fly-fishing we would suggest a fly-drive package with cottage.
Sea trout can be fished from any shoreline with incoming freshwater, but a boat gives greater access and flexibility. Boats can be hired in advance or in resort.
