ICELAND.. Wilderness Fly Fishing Adventures for Brown Trout & Char.

Fully guided fly fishing holidays of 4 to 7 nights (or longer), fishing areas of outstanding beauty in stunningly scenic surroundings.

Our base is a beautiful summer-house overlooking Thingvallavatn Lake noted for excellent shore fishing for four species of wild arctic char. Huge brown trout (biggest recently caught weighed 28 pounds) feed close to the shoreline in early summer. Relatively easy wading. A boat fishing option will be available in the summer of 2011. 

A three hour drive in robust 4x4 vehicle takes anglers deep into the Highlands region where guests overnight in comfortable mountain top cabins overlooking stunning lakes which are rarely fished. Char and brown trout can be caught close to shore or by wading out into these shallow lakes. We recommend a two or three day adventure trip to avail the most from the journey over mountains and valleys.

Travel; Flights with Icelandair to Keflavik. Siggi will collect and transfer to your accommodation/fishing with guiding each day. There will be the option to extend your stay in the delightful city of Reykjavik if required.

Season: mid June to mid August prime time. It is possible to target huge brown trout in late April to mid May. Char can also be caught at this time.

Siggi is a friendly and affable guide who has an excellent knowledge of these waters. He is a keen fly fisher and excellent host. Dining requirement can suit all tastes with prior notice and holidays can be tailor made to suit each groups requirements. Group size 2 to 4 persons which assures a high level of personal service.

Anglers must ensure all tackle items (rods/reels/waders) are disinfected upon arrival at Keflavik Airport (expect to pay around £30 pp).
