Zanzibar Fishing Centre

Location

A well established centre in the village of Lauvsnes, Flatanger and 175km from Trondheim Airport. The accommodation is located next to the sea and is within walking distance of Lauvsnes centre.

Getting there

Flights to Trondheim then self-drive car hire. The drive from Trondheim Airport to Lauvsnes should take around 3 hours.

Accommodation

The accommodation consists of 3 large houses which each contain 4 self-contained apartments. The apartments have 2 or 3 bedrooms and will sleep up to either 4 or 6 persons. Each apartment is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a bathroom, open plan lounge with dining area and fitted kitchen.

Boats

There is a choice of boats from 16.5ft 15hp to 17.5ft 40hp. The boats are moored within a few yards of the apartments.

Fishing

There is a variety of fishing in generally sheltered waters. Expect cod, coalfish, torsk, ling, haddock and redfish. Skippered fishing is available for trips further out to sea. Salmon fishing is possible in the Lauvsnes River close to Zanzibar Inn and there are several lakes in the area that hold trout.

Shops/facilities

The Zanzibar Inn has a bar and good value restaurant where you can get breakfast, lunch and evening meals (we can pre-book full or half board accommodation). The nearest grocery shop and petrol station is only 200m away.

Other activities

The area is excellent for walking and bird watching and both golden eagles and sea eagles are frequently observed.
