Garten Sjøhus Fishing Centre

Location

Garten Sjøhus is right at the end of the Fosen peninsula close to the ferry dock at Garten, just 2km further on than Ronsholmen Brygge.

Getting there

Fly-Drive ....DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM GATWICK.

Fly into Trondheim. The best option from there is by hire car. There are several road and ferry options from the airport including driving to Valst (via Orkanger) and catching the ferry to Brekstad. The total journey would take approximately 2 hours including the short 20 minute crossing on the frequent ferry. Another popular option is to take the public bus from the airport to Trondheim dock and catch the fast ferry to Brekstad where your accommodation hosts will transfer you to Ronsholmen Brygger. Enquire at time of booking for other possible routes.

Accommodation

The 6 cottages lie just above the harbour and have superb views over the sea. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms and will accommodate from 4 to 6 persons.
The well equipped kitchen includes fridge, dishwasher and coffee maker and the lounge area has satellite TV.
A washing machine and drier is available for guests use.

Boats

The 17ft Oyen boats have 25 or 30hp engines and are fitted with echo sounder and emergency tracking device.

Fishing

With depths up to 400 metres you will find some of the best fishing areas in mid Norway. Cod, haddock, coalfish and torsk are caught throughout the season and in the summer months the arrival of mackerel and herring shoals increases your chances of specimen cod and coalfish. In the shallow waters plaice and other varieties of flatfish are caught. There is a tackle shop, with rod and reel hire and fish gutting/cleaning facilities on site.

The nearest shops, bars and restaurants are in Brekstad.
