Rønsholmen Fishing Centre

Location

Ronsholmen Brygger lies on the Fosen peninsula to the north west of Trondheimsfjord. The peninsula is an area of contrasts and from the coastal landscapes of skerries, moors and quiet fjords you can soon reach nearby mountains and valleys. Ronsholmen is 8km south of the town of Brekstad and 140km from Trondheim Airport (Vaernes).

Getting There

Fly-Drive

Fly into Trondheim. The best option from there is by hire car. There are several road and ferry options from the airport including driving to Valst (via Orkanger) and catching the ferry to Brekstad. The total journey would take approximately 2 hours including the short 20 minute crossing on the frequent ferry. Another popular option is to take the public bus from the airport to Trondheim dock and catch the fast ferry to Brekstad where your accommodation hosts will transfer you to Ronsholmen Brygger. Enquire at time of booking for other possible routes.

Accommodation

There are 6 comfortably furnished cottages right beside the water. Each two storey cottage will sleep up to 6 in 3 bedrooms. The fully equipped kitchen includes electric cooker, fridge, dishwasher and coffee maker and there is a living area with satellite TV.

Boats

The boats are 17ft with 25 or 30hp outboard. They are fitted with inboard steering, echo sounder and emergency tracking device.

Fishing

The ebb and flow of the tide from Trondheimsfjord brings an abundance of food for a variety of fish including cod, coalfish, pollack, haddock, ling, torsk and flatfish. Your accommodation host will be pleased to offer advice on the best fishing spots. There is a tackle shop on site and rods and reels can be hired. Facilities are available for tackle storage, fish cleaning, filleting and freezing and there is also a smoke oven.
