Kokelv fish camp - fantastic fishing for big cod, halibut, coalfish, wolf fish and haddock in the far north of Norway... Excellent self use boat fishing and shore fishing too.

Simon Powell and friends had their first ever trip to Kokelv in JUly 2011. Simon had his biggest cod (49 pounds) and lots of big cod and halibut. "Fishing beyond my wildest dreams"

Fishing: Cod over 30lb are caught off the dock in summer. In March/April the Barents Sea cod move onto a shallow reef close to the lodge to spawn. These cod also stay and feed in the fjord right through summer as the huge herring and small coalie shoals move in. Excellent fishing for Halibut and wolf fish too.

Relatively sheltered, except for any strong NW winds. Plenty of features and variety of depths and dropoffs to explore. Shallow sandy bays offer excellent fishing for plaice (redspot) with an average size of 4 pounds with the chance of double figure plaice. Sea trout and salmon feed along the shoreline close to 3 streams that flow in near the accommodation.

Self Catering

Located 130 kms from Alta, this excellent centre offers superb fishing for big cod, halibut, coalfish, wolf fish, red fish and haddock. Formerly a commercial fishing centre, the property now offers three apartments and is ideal for groups of 2 to 18 persons. Local advice is provided by the owner, Jan Johansen. Wide range of excellent boats available for excellent sea fishing. Kokelv is a small hamlet with a grocery shop for provisions.
