“ Fishing new waters around Herkingen and Oude Tonge,  for the first time in August we enjoyed great sport. Best weight went to my friend Paul Cosby with a bag of 190 pounds of bream.

This new area offers great sport for quality fish and methods are feeder, waggler and pole. There’s a method and a swim to suit everyone. In addition to big bream, some of the biggest in Holland, there’s, roach, hybrids, carp, ide and freshwater mullet – my biggest on the pole was 7.5 pounder which pound for pound fought as hard as anything I had hooked around that weight. I personally landed bream to 7 pounds but they have been caught to 15 pounds!. This area has huge natural stocks of coarse fish and predators (pike and zander) and here the fish grow big in all species.”  Mick Gee.

Big waters surround this island, rich farmland, much only reclaimed from the sea some 18 years ago. Prolific food chain. Huge head of quality coarse fish, Bream to 15 pounds, Ide, hybrids, roach, perch, landlocked mullet…

Big carp to 50lb plus. Huge pike to 44 lb plus (recent record pike of 28 kilos!!??). Great potential for specimen anglers.

With easy access by road, also some exclusive locations with boat access, lots of good fishing places.. suits the pleasure angler in search of new and excellent waters, plus match fishing.

Overview: This scenic and picturesque part of Holland offers the angler a vast choice of waters to fish, all highly productive. Much of the area was saltwater until 22 years ago. The waters are immensely rich and contain huge shoals of coarse fish to record sizes. Smaller canals offer more intimate swims, all interlinked to the large water systems and therefore full of fish.

Pre bait and these huge waters offer limitless potential. They suit pole, feeder and waggler methods for coarse fish. Big carp are to be found in these waters and with expert advice from Erwin on location and pre baiting with particle and boilies, 3 to 5 carp per angler per day with fish into the 20 kilo range can be expected on a good day.
