Scenic waters, great fishing, stunning scenery and great sights like Toronto City, Niagara Falls and Algonquin National Park. Abundant wildlife is never far away. Black bear, moose, bald eagle, osprey and beaver.

Canadian Carpin is a fully guided, top quality holiday experience on the St Lawrence, operated by Paul and Lisa Hunt. Paul has studied the St Lawrence system for eighteen years and has amassed a huge amount of knowledge on this awesome carp water.

All tackle and particle bait is supplied and it’s top quality, so there is no need to worry about transporting your own gear. Paul recommends that you do take 15 to 20 made-up hook lengths, just to save you time. Swims are always pre-baited, and guests are transported to and from their swims in Canadian Carpin’s custom-built 150hp boat. Packed lunches are provided, of course.

Fishing may be from uninhabited islands, the boat, in isolated bays, or on the banks of the river itself. Paul’s local knowledge on swims and methods delivers great results for his guests: two anglers on a ten-day holiday landed six tons of carp, including a 50, eight 40s and over eighty 30s!

Canadian Carpin lifestyle

The grounds surrounding the Manor enjoy breathtaking views of the river and include a private boat launch and dock with boats for baiting up.
A massive games room overlooking the river is equipped with a pool table, soccer table and darts board and is the perfect place to listen to some great music as well as celebrate and recount the days exciting catches with a drink. Satellite TV is available for anyone who wishes to keep up on their favourite sporting event. The in-house fitness area is equipped with an elliptical machine and free weights.

Mountain bikes are provided for guests to enjoy scenic rides and you can’t beat the fact that once back from a days fishing on the river you can just stroll down the garden and cast a few rods out in some top swims!

Entertainment on your holiday depends on individual preferences. Saturday is the scheduled night out, starting off at a local restaurant renowned for its generous meals (approx. £17pp).

Carp Fishing Locations Within Canadian Carpin

River Island Manor

A beautiful, spacious 19th century home with 21st century standards in grounds of two acres surrounded by the magnificent St Lawrence. After a day out fishing, come back to the Manor and fish from the bottom of the garden! For golfing carpers there is an 18-hole course right next door. The Manor has a fitness centre and mountain bikes are provided for guests to enjoy scenic rides.

Meals

Generous, exceptionally prepared, home-cooked evening meals are served in a spacious dining area boasting one of the best views of the magnificent St. Lawrence and impressive Seaway Locks. Lunch is packed in cool bags, with a wide variety of items to choose from. Breakfast is continental style and includes coffee, tea, juices, cereal, toast, fruit and cereal bars. There are games rooms, TV lounges and peaceful reading lounges.

Holidays are Monday to Monday

Couples and families are welcome at Canadian Carpin. Paul and Lisa are more than happy to advise and arrange alternative activities for non fishing guests, such as visits to some of the local attractions or day trips to Ottawa and Montreal for some touring and shopping. Transport is provided at no extra cost.
